SAFEGUARDING

Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts

We’re proud to say that Kojin-Kai Karate Club has been awarded the Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts “mark”. This nationally recognised accreditation shows that we’ve met all the requirements to demonstrate our commitment to keeping everyone at our club safe and supported.

Over several weeks, we’ve invested many hours into writing and updating policies, completing training, and gaining the relevant safeguarding qualifications. Achieving the Safeguarding Code mark means that we have:

  • Robust safeguarding policies and procedures in place
  • Coaches and volunteers trained in safeguarding best practice
  • Clear codes of conduct for members, parents, and instructors
  • A club culture where welfare is taken seriously and concerns can be raised safely

The Code, developed with support from Sport England and safeguarding experts, helps families and individuals identify martial arts clubs that take their safeguarding responsibilities seriously. It also reassures our members and their families that we meet the highest standards of safety and care.

We are also proud to be the only Kyokushin karate club in Kent to currently hold this recognition.

You can learn more about the Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts by visiting safeguardingcode.com.

All our instructors are fully DBS checked and hold up-to-date first aid and safeguarding training. We also have a qualified safeguarding lead to ensure best practices are followed at all times.

To maintain a safe and supportive environment, we have the following safeguarding policies and procedures in place:

Social media policy

Risk assessment

Adult safeguarding policy

Child safeguarding policy

Safe practice guidelines

Staff, child, and parent codes of conduct

Complaints procedure
